French DVDs advertised

"Once upon a time... the most beautiful show on DVD, at last!"

The French DVDs are coming! Season 1 is available this week (Season 2 in June, Season 3 in October). I wandered, lonely as a cloud... when all at once, I saw a crowd, a host of golden "ads for these" fluttering and dancing in the daily newspapers!
On the other hand, I was annoyed to find none in my highbrow culture-and-TV guide (that I've never had the heart to unsubscribe from).
I cannot help wondering if we'll have a new affluence of fans in the French tunnels?
Talking about which... if you are a member of Dans_Les_Tunnels, there you can see a bigger image, make out the tiny script, and practice your French:

I had no idea it would make me feel so giddy to see our show all over the place, out in the open - but it does! I had to resist the urge to buy all the press ;-)

Facebook Graffiti

Vincent

It's Winterfest all over again! Thanks to Chan I found out that Facebook has a "graffiti" application very similar to our usual "artpad". Scroll down to see my new "Vincent" replayed!
If you find it coarse it's because neither my hand nor the laptop's touchpad(*) are tame, and it was done fast (as a graffito should be...). If you find it nice it's only because you too find Vincent beautiful, and (I shudder to associate her name with this, but...) I used Rosemarie Hauer's lovely art as remote reference.
(*)I only just realized why I feel slightly more comfortable with the touchpad than with the mouse: I use my left hand with the touchpad (as with pencils) but my right hand with the mouse...

Website update (French)

At last, I have scanned and uploaded two French magazine articles I've had for 20 years.
I'm glad those items are out of the closet at last. They may be of limited interest to most of you, unless you read French, because I'm afraid you've seen the promo pictures everywhere. Even the picture of Ron Perlman in a black and gray sweater has its twin on the Perlman Pages and probably on other sites as well.
If you do read French, remember that the French airing started a year later than in the US. Veiled allusions to the third season in the longer article may have been innocent or not (I am not usually paranoid, but I suspect they might have known, and yet knowingly misguided French readers with Linda's alleged "importance" in the (for us, upcoming) third season.

An "interesting" goof in the first interview used to annoy me to no end, until I unraveled its mystery today.
They included a picture of another Beast with a caption attempting to describe Vincent. A feeble attempt indeed, something about his being too "monstrous". Yet another journalist who failed to receive the message in the "Brothers" episode. There are no freaks here!
In any case, it turns out that mysterious second Beast was John Savage, in another version of Beauty and the Beast (a 1987 musical with Rebecca de Mornay). I checked out YouTube and found a rather cute excerpt and trailer.

Winterfest Online 2009

Winterfest Online 2009 (February 7-15) is over...
but if you ask me, the deserted Great Hall still deserves a visit.
Those great doors have remained a crack open... Vincent must have had other business than to close them properly ;)
After five years in fandom and 20 years of knowing and loving BatB, I finally contributed a little story! The Kingdom and the Thief should actually have a second and final chapter sometime soon.

Seeing things with rose-colored glasses

heart-shaped puddle on concrete
Yesterday morning while waiting for my suburban train, out in the open some time after a mild rain shower, I was dreaming of -or trying to put into words the emotions of- Vincent and Catherine about to not-just-soul-kiss near the drainage culvert. You remember the ending of A Happy Life with that tantalizing "watermark" scene...
My gaze focused on the ground and I gave a start... I thought I was hallucinating! Do you think they sent me a sign through the thin walls between the worlds? :D

Darn second-class cell phone. The real thing looked nicer, with some water remaining at the center of the heart.

Dear friends, I hope I'll find enough no-nonsense to post here ;)
